A minor in Africana studies requires that students complete six courses for 18 credits in the program. Effective Fall 2015, students who declare a minor in Africana studies must take Introduction to Africana Studies as one of their six courses.

Six credits may be at the 200 level and at least 12 credits must be at the 300-400 level. See the list of approved courses for the major.

Students also may elect to count toward the minor one of the following:

  • 50:512:230  Education in America (three credits)
  • 50:964:301  Contemporary Issues in Elementary Education (three credits)
  • 50:964:302  Contemporary Issues in Secondary Education (three credits)
